Shipping OPSEC: Receiving Packages Without Exposing Identity
Physical delivery is the weakest link in darknet transactions. Digital OPSEC means nothing if a package is traced directly to your home address.
Never Use Your Real Address
Controlled deliveries are a standard law enforcement technique — a flagged package is delivered normally while agents watch who collects it. Use drop addresses: vacant properties, complicit businesses, or rented PO boxes under an assumed identity where permitted by law.
Timing and Patterns
Don't order to the same address repeatedly. Vary order timing, vendors, and destinations. Law enforcement builds cases over time by establishing patterns. A single delivery might go unnoticed; a regular pattern triggers investigation.
Package Handling
If you receive a suspicious package: don't open it immediately. Leave it sealed for 48-72 hours. A controlled delivery typically involves follow-up action within this window. Wear gloves when handling. Never acknowledge ordering something you didn't expect in conversations or writing.
